The Joseph T. Webber Home This home was built for Joseph T. Webber, a businessman who was involved in mercantile, lumber and other endeavors. He married the sister of the famous J. L. Hudson, who started his mercantile career in Ionia before moving on to Detroit. It was built in 1890, a Queen Anne two and one-half story with steep-pitch hipped and gabled roofs with overlay of Queen Anne gable-end and cornice detailing. Entry into the kitchen from the dining room is through swinging doors. The cupboards in the kitchen are original. A back stairway leads to the maid's quarters. On the second floor, there are five bedrooms with hardwood floors. During the early and mid 1890's, boxing matches were held in the third floor walk-in attic.
