Esther (Lyon) Tabor
Born in 1811 in Shelburne, Vermont, Esther died in
Hubbardston, Michigan, on July 19, 1889, at the age of 77. She is buried
in the Eastside Cemetery, Hubbardston, Michigan.
She came to Michigan with her husband James W. Tabor in
1835 settling first in Lyons, Michigan, and later Hubbardston.
She was a daughter of Asa and Sarah (Atwater) Lyon.
Her brother Lucius Lyon was Michigan's first territorial delegate in Congress,
one of the first United States Senators from Michigan, served a term in the
United States House of Representatives, and was a founder of Lyons, Michigan.
